Erika Farina
Erika Farina was born in Italy in 1990 and has been living in Vienna since 2009. After training as a dressmaker and fashion designer at the Sitam Fashion Academy, she gained experience at various Austrian fashion labels, including Liniert, Jana Wieland and Wiener Konfektion. Since 2017, Farina has been exploring the connection between textile and visual art in her work. Her work covers a wide range from costume design to installations and participatory projects. Since 2021, she has been collaborating with media artist Patricia J. Reis on the development and production of textile components for her installations. Since 2022 Farina studies Art Education at the Angewandte. Since 2023, she has been in charge of the Open Sewing Workshop as a student assistant in the Department of Textiles – Free, Applied and Experimental Artistic Design.
