Leather Workshop
Workshop for Leather and Equivalent Materials
In the Leather Workshop, students can develop personal and seminar-related projects focusing on leather and similar materials. The workshop begins with an introduction to the materials and tools, providing students with the knowledge needed to execute their artistic projects effectively.
Leather processing is one of the oldest cultural techniques, offering a rich field for experimentation and application in various contexts. This versatile material can be cut, glued, embossed, shaped, sewn, braided, knitted, folded, slit, patterned, studded, written on, painted, printed, and more.
The Leather Workshop has functioned in its current capacity since 2013, following the incorporation of the former leather gallantry into the Angewandte through the generous initiative of its founder and owner, Árpád Mészáros.
