Guest lecture: Univ. Prof. Dr. Irene Posch

Irene Posch is a researcher, artist, and professor of Design and Technology at the University of Art and Design Linz. With a background in media and computer science, she focuses on integrating digital technologies in the fields of art and craftsmanship, often with a particular emphasis on textiles.

As an artist, Posch has developed exhibitions and interactive installations, including for the Ars Electronica Futurelab in Linz. She was an Artist in Residence at the V2_ Institute for the Unstable Media in Rotterdam and at the Eyebeam Art & Technology Center in New York. In Linz, she founded the Crafting Futures Lab – a platform dedicated to exploring the future of craftsmanship and the craftsmanship of the future.

The lecture concludes the DIGITAL ART FOR TEXTILE ART EDUCATION series, organized by the Department of Textiles – Free, Applied and Experimental Artistic Design. The series explores the transformation of textile production and education through open source technologies and digital tools, while also exploring new creative possibilities.
