The Department of Textiles – Free, Applied, and Experimental Artistic Design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna is dedicated to the creative exploration and societal role of textiles, through teaching and research.

The department offers a variety of seminars and workshops on textile material culture and contemporary textile art and design practices. Teaching is closely linked to research activities and to the studios, where we experiment with textile knowledge and technologies.
